Design your blog with the look and feel that you think will most effectively communicate your passion project. Think of your audience, purpose, and message.
Students should be actively studying for their vocabulary quiz this Friday. Use the KIM sheet and the spelling bee strategies we covered in class. Students will be responsible for showing correct spelling, a definition using their own words, and the word in a complete sentence that illustrates understanding.

Passion Project Resources
This weekend, feel free to begin your passion project! Gather supplies, start your research, get out and get doing!
Also, begin practicing your vocabulary words. Our first vocabulary quiz is next Friday. You can find the word list here.
You'll be responsible for being able to spell the word correctly, provide a definition, and use it in a sentence. We will practice this in class next week, but it is never too soon to start committing these words to memory.
I will see period 2 LA students from 1/25-2/5.
I cannot wait to get started on your passion projects!
We are going to start the new year with an assignment that will exercise our creativity and allow me to get to know you. None of this work is to be completed outside of class. This will be due in class at the end of this week.

Pick a color and attempt to explain it to the class without naming the actual color. Try to think of the feelings and memories that you associate with the color when giving your presentation.
Your presentation should include a poster board with four black and white pictures that adequately express the feelings and memories that you associate with that color.
Tomorrow we will begin celebrating the amazing learning and doing that happened during your passion projects. Practice your presentation this evening at least three times. Use a mirror, a friend, a family member. Remember the purpose of your presentation is to convey something that you "did" and something that you "learned." You will have 3-5 minutes to share and you may use your blog or create a powerpoint to help your audience understand your passion project journey.
Your reflection letter is due to your blog today. Please post as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any questions.
