You've done it! You've nearly completed a AP Lit. This means that it is time to compile your reflections to draw conclusions about how and what you have learned since September.
Together, we will create a learning report using a shared google doc.
The report has four components:
You will want to read over all of the reflections from the semester and extract well-worded sentences that fall into each of those categories. It's the section where you build your argument as to why you deserve the grade you give yourself.
4. Rate your performance on a scale of 0-4 for each standard. Support with specific examples.
5. Lastly, below, write a short paragraph about how you like the non-graded approach. What worked? What didn't work?
Submit your first draft of two page close reading essay to turnitin.com before Monday's class. We will have an intense writing workshop for this final paper of AP.
Finish reading the text tonight. The Active Reading assignment is due on Monday, 12/4.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Read to page 82 of HOD and post your active reading work to Digication.
Today we watched Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Ted Talk titled "The Danger of a Single Story."_ Our conversation turned to the human habit of categorizing and naming in order to make sense of our complicated world. In stopping at that naming, we run the risk of never seeing the layered identities and stories that make up a single person's human experience. We made connections to imperialism and modern day conflict.
Tonight, read to page 59 this evening. Please be prepared to discuss the text tomorrow.
