If you asked for an extension, be working on getting your MG 2 project done by your extended due date. If you turned in your MG 2, start work on your MG 3!
Be prepared to work hard during tomorrow's class to finish the 2nd multi-genre project. Your first projects looked great! Keep up the hard work!
What do you have for homework in order to be able to turn in your multi-genre project this Thursday?
Homework this week will be to work on your Multi-Genre Project #2. You will only have one work day this week, and it will be on the day that it is due. Therefore, please plan accordingly as for what homework you need to complete before Thursday's class.
Also, create three categories to organize a several volunteer opportunities found at www.bethechange907.org.
Possible categories are:
1. Opportnites for students in elementary school, middle school, or high school
2. Giving time, giving money, giving supplies opportunities
If this sounds a bit confusing, no worries. Just let me know if you have questions (make a comment). Please come to class with 3-5 volunteer opportunities for three different categories.
Work on your multi genre project as much as you can this weekend. This week, we will begin work on our class-wide community service webpage assignment.

If you complete your summary paragraph for homework, you will earn yourself Thursday's class as a work period. Plan wisely and set yourself up for success!
Finish your Genre Proposal before Monday's class. Include the audience, purpose, and context for each genre and a due date. Here are the due dates:
Also, Monday will be a Multi-genre project work day. Bring to class what you need to use that time wisely.
Students read their how-to poems to the class today and then completed Quick Write #14 (below).
Quick Write #14:
1. List as many questions as you possibly can about your multi-genre project topic (the same topic as your how-to poem).
2. Write a paragraph explaining why your chosen topic will make an excellent, enjoyable, and researchable topic for our multi-genre project.
